School Kits and Education Solutions Program
The School Kits & Education Program, presented in partnership with the National Theatre for Children (NTC), helps students and school staff learn about energy efficiency through engaging educational resources, interactive learning experiences, and hands-on energy-saving kits. The program encourages energy-smart habits at school and at home while building awareness of practical ways to save energy and reduce utility costs.
Through the combination of NTC’s proven educational outreach expertise and real-world energy-saving tools, the program helps students connect energy concepts to their everyday lives and empowers families to make informed energy choices.

Join the Energy Academy
Energy Academy is a free, 35 minute live program that helps middle school students understand energy conservation, renewable resources, and key STEM concepts through an engaging, interactive performance. Led by two trained presenters, the show uses humor, demonstrations, and student participation to make energy topics easy to grasp and apply in everyday life. Students explore how electricity is generated, the importance of using energy wisely, and how individual choices can help protect the environment.
What is included:
Energy Academy provides schools with a complete learning experience, including:
- A live, interactive performance that engages and inspires students
- Bilingual student and family guides to reinforce key energy and environmental concepts at home
- Digital resources for teachers and students to extend learning beyond the assembly
- A take home energy saving kit for every student to encourage real-world energy conservation practices
Teachers also receive a digital toolkit with ready to use lessons and activities, plus the opportunity to earn a $50 mini grant by collecting students’ completed Home Energy Solutions surveys. Together, these resources make it easy to strengthen STEM learning in the classroom and encourage students to practice smart energy habits at home.
No-cost energy-saving kits for students and staff
All 6th– through 8th-grade students and school staff receive a free energy-saving kit when their school participates in the Energy Academy program. Each kit includes practical tools that help reduce energy use and lower utility costs at home:
- Low flow showerhead (1.5 GPM)
- Bathroom faucet aerator (1.0 GPM)
- Self adhesive foam weatherstrip
- Advanced 5 outlet power strip
Students also receive a Home Energy Survey to complete with their families, helping them install the included items and connect classroom learning to real world energy habits. Teachers who collect and return completed surveys are eligible for a $50 classroom mini grant.
Eligibility
The Energy Academy is available to middle schools served by Entergy Louisiana, providing energy efficiency and STEM education materials that align with Louisiana Science Standards to help educators reinforce key classroom concepts through engaging, real-world learning experiences. Eligible participants include schools served by Entergy Louisiana and middle school students in grades 6–8, with all participating students and school staff receiving program materials, educational resources, and energy saving kits.
This turnkey program helps students build energy awareness, explore STEM concepts, and develop practical energy-saving habits that extend beyond the classroom.
