Meta’s move to Louisiana: Good for the state, and a big win for Entergy customers

With recent approval by the Louisiana Public Service Commission, Meta will soon join our grid. This allows Entergy Louisiana to build several new transmission and three new modern, efficient generation facilities in a way that not only serves Meta’s future data center but also strengthens reliability and resiliency across our service area and keeps rates low for all of our customers.

Entergy Louisiana receives LPSC approval for major infrastructure investments to support Meta’s data center and improve reliability

The Louisiana Public Service Commission, or LPSC, has approved a landmark agreement that paves the way for Entergy Louisiana to move forward with major infrastructure investments tied to Meta’s new data center in Richland Parish. The approval clears the path for significant enhancements to the state’s electric grid that will benefit all Entergy Louisiana customers and prepare the system for future energy needs.

Entergy Louisiana helps protect the environment through $75,000 grant

Today, representatives from Entergy Louisiana, Baton Rouge Green and Southern University, along with local officials, gathered on Harding Boulevard in Baton Rouge to commemorate the completion of the Median Tree Planting Revitalization Project. The substation, which will be funded by Meta in its entirety, will play a central role in delivering electricity to the $10 billion facility, which spans more than 4-million square feet and represents one of the largest private investments in Louisiana history. The Smalling Substation will cover about 55 acres and connect to high-voltage power lines that bring energy from across the region and deliver it to the Meta site.

Entergy sponsors inaugural PowerUp! Energy Bootcamp to inspire the next generation of industry leaders

In June, the American Association of Blacks in Energy Greater New Orleans Chapter, in partnership with STEM NOLA, launched the PowerUp! Bootcamp – a week-long immersive program designed to expose students to the fundamentals of the energy industry. Entergy New Orleans announces Power Your Future Scholarship to support technology students at HBCUs

Entergy New Orleans is proud to announce the launch of its Power Your Future Scholarship program, designed to support current college undergraduates pursuing eligible technology majors who plan to further their education at designated Historically Black Colleges or Universities, or minority-serving institutions within Orleans parish. Selected recipients will receive a $5,000 award, with up to 20 scholarships available from Entergy shareholder funds.
