March 31 deadline approaching to apply for $1,000 grants
Baton Rouge, La. – Nonprofit
organizations in Louisiana looking to fund community improvement projects can
now apply for a grant of up to $1,000 from the Entergy Community Partnership
Grants program.
Applications are available at
entergy.com/our_community/cpGrant_Guidelines and will be accepted through March
31. Only online applications will be accepted.
The grants are available for projects
that demonstrate a lasting benefit to the public through the arts, community
improvement, education, literacy or improving the health of families. Last year,
Entergy gave out 75 Community Partnership grants in Louisiana, totaling $73,000.
“The Community Partnership Grants
program is a great way for nonprofits in the state to fund projects that make a
difference in their communities,” said Steven Scheurich, vice president of
customer service for Entergy Louisiana, LLC and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana,
L.L.C. “We’re proud to be able to partner with agencies all over the state in an
effort to help make life better for our customers.”
Grants will only be made to
nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status, schools, hospitals, government units or
religious institutions within Entergy’s service territory in Louisiana. Each
organization may only submit one grant application per year. Any organization
that has received a Community Partnership grant for three consecutive years must
wait one year before applying again.
Grant applications will be judged by
an advisory board made up of educators and community representatives. The grants
are expected to be awarded in either late August or early September.
